Introduction

Doug Lemov's Teach Like a Champion was written with teachers in mind.  After observing a variety of teachers, Lemov combined the strategies that he believed worked best into a guide that is in place to help teachers in their instruction.  These strategies are tested and have been shown to be effective within the classroom. I chose the four strategies that I believe would be the most useful in my classroom.  I plan to teach Middle School English and History, so I chose the strategies with my ideal classroom in mind.  The Exit Ticket strategy is an excellent way to yield data about student understanding.  The Warm/Strict strategy outlines the type of teacher that I hope to be.  The Entry Routine is a way to maximize classroom time, maintain organization, and set expectations.  The Seat Signals strategy is an organized system to communicate with students without interrupting the work of their peers.  Each of these strategies adds a vital component to the classroom.  By combining each of these strategies, I hope to create a classroom that thrives through organization, high expectations, and maximized efficiency.
